A Non-Profit Documentary Showcasing Their Impact

The Context and Objectives

This film was part of our community outreach work for a business in Seattle. They had hired us to help them get engaged in the community in ways that aligned with their individual and business values. That work lasted nearly a year and a half and involved many aspects.

Here we were seeking to deeply invest into a relationship with a community activist and leader whose work aligned with the values of the business. We set out to produce a documentary that would help this non-profit spread their message and ultimately drive fundraising efforts.

Notes as a Filmmaker on our Journey

This film is a good example of our dedication to doing whatever is necessary for a project. We were supposed to interview clients in one city, but for various reasons that fell through. We were deeply convicted that we must have a client a part of the film, and we traveled to the other side of the country to collect that story. When we were asked, “Is this necessary?” Our response was simple, “Yes.”

With the film finished, we cannot imagine doing this without all of the people involved. This film cost us thousands more than we anticipated and required endless hours of tweaking. The non-profit that this was about was over-the-moon about the quality of this film.
